ENSOLITE is a trademark for closed cell foam material made from
a blend of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) and Nitrile Butadiene Rubber
(NBR). As previously manufactured by RBX Industries, Inc. ® ENSOLITE
was available in a broad range of compression deflections (hardness/softness)
and densities (pounds per cubic foot/weight). ® ENSOLITE was used
primarily for shock absorption, athletic protective equipment,
insulation for both high and low temperature, and floatation in
personal floatation safety devices. It was also used in industrial
applications such as automotive gasketing and weather stripping.
Most ® ENSOLITE stocks exhibit good flame and oil resistance and
fair to poor weather and ozone resistance. ® ENSOLITE provided
a wide range of physical properties.
® ENSOLITE WAS NOT OFFERED as a recycled product.
